After Alabama defeated Texas on Sept. 10, players were seen doing the “Horns Down” gesture. Nick Saban got caught yelling an expletive at the players and joked about it on his radio show Thursday night.

During Thursday’s edition of “Hey Coach and the Nick Saban Show,” Saban — who used the same word on the show Sept. 1 — discussed the incident, which made its way around social media. He then joked about his usage of NSFW language on the show while also explaining why he told the players not to use the “Horns Down” sign.

“There’s something on the internet, I said it after the game. ‘Don’t do that’ — I’m not going to say it. I’ve cussed on this show too many times — ‘stuff.’ I’m going to say, ‘stuff,'” Saban said. “‘Don’t do that stuff.’ We’re not doing [‘Horns Down’]. Don’t do it. It’s not classy, we don’t need to degrade the other team’s traditions. Just go play. So I saw somebody doing that after the game and I said don’t do that … stuff.”

Alabama players flash ‘horns down’ after win over Texas

Despite coming into Saturday as huge favorites, Alabama struggled against Texas. In what was viewed as the matchup of the weekend, the Longhorns found a way to stay in the game throughout. The Crimson Tide pulled away with the win, living up to the hype.

As the Alabama players were leaving the field, though, they decided to have some fun with the home fans. They were seen flashing the ‘horns down’ while walking back to the locker room, with not too many people wearing burnt orange being happy.

Earlier, the FOX broadcast caught Nick Saban coach hollering at someone. After a self-destructive performance nearly cost his team, Saban did not hold back as he apparently saw some of his players giving the “Horns Down” signal.

Saban did not hold back.

“Don’t do that sh*t!” he yelled.
