Bojangles is making the most of the NCAA’s new name, image and likeness rules. The fried chicken chain added another Alabama player to its sponsorship roster Thursday.

Crimson Tide cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry confirmed his deal with Bojangles on his Instagram story Thursday morning. He posted a video promoting the new Supremes, which are making their return. McKinstry also put the hashtag #bojanglesparter at the end of his tweet and in the IG story.

“You heard right, @Bojangles Supremes ARE BACK!” McKinstry tweeted. “Make sure you go check them out, they won’t disappoint.”

McKinstry, who also has a deal with Kool-Aid, joins fellow Crimson Tide players DJ Dale and Malachi Moore as Bojangles partners. Bojangles also has relationships with Auburn players Bo Nix and Zakoby McClain.

McKinstry had a solid freshman season for the Crimson Tide during the regular season. He had 17 tackles and an interception for an Alabama defense that ranked eighth in the country in total defense.

He was a big part of Alabama’s defensive attack in last week’s SEC Championship against Georgia, where he had four tackles to help the Crimson Tide to a 41-24 victory over the Bulldogs in Atlanta.

Now, McKinstry and No. 1 Alabama are getting ready to take on No. 4 Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Eve.

Bojangles gets in on new NIL rules

Bojangles has been one of the biggest players in the new NIL landscape. The chain has deals with plenty of big names, including Clemson’s DJ Uiagalelei and North Carolina’s Sam Howell.

Alabama and Auburn players are also involved. Alabama defensive lineman DJ Dale and defensive back Malachi Moore are two Crimson Tide players Bojangles sponsors, while Auburn quarterback Bo Nix and linebacker Zakoby McClain also signed endorsement deals.

Getting McKinstry involved only adds to the talent the fast food chain has promoting its popular chicken.
