Alabama tight end Cameron Latu narrated a hype video ahead of Saturday’s game against Southern Miss that will give you chills. The Crimson Tide posted the video to their Twitter page Friday evening.

“The process,” Latu said in the video. “You hear us talk about it, but do you really know what it’s about? For me, my process was different. From rugby to football. From linebacker to tight end. You think any of that was easy? But I’m a little different. Some people run from change. I welcome it. Some people think I’m a late bloomer. But I think I’m right on schedule.”

Latu started as a defensive end according to Alabama’s website, but converted to tight end after his freshman season. Rugby was his primary sport growing up. At 6-foot-5 250 pounds, it’s easy to see how he can make an impact for the Crimson Tide. In the first game of the season, he grabbed a pair of touchdown catches in a rout of Miami.

He had a pair of catches for 19 yards as Alabama defeated Florida in Week 3. The Crimson Tide led 21-3 after the first quarter and held off a furious Gators comeback to win 31-29.

As Alabama gets set to face Southern Miss at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Latu figures to be involved in the passing game once more. Freshman quarterback Bryce Young has a variety of weapons that also includes receivers John Metchie III and Jameson Williams. Based on the hype video, the Alabama tight end is ready to show off his hard work for a home crowd.

The schedule gets a lot tougher when the Crimson Tide return to SEC play next week. First it’s a matchup with No. 13 Ole Miss and Matt Corral, followed by a bout with No. 7 Texas A&M.
