Jalen Reed, a 6-foot-10, 220-pound consensus three-star center out of Castaic (Calif.) Southern California Academy, has offers from Arizona State, Florida, Ole Miss, Washington State, Cal, DePaul, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, and more. He remains one of the top uncommitted prospects in the Class of 2022.

Reed was previously at Oak Hill but transferred to Southern California Academy for his senior year. He has already taken official visits to Florida on July 31, Ole Miss on Sept. 11 and Washington State on Sept. 17. Reed took an official visit to Arizona State this past weekend, and he updates his recruitment with On3.

Question: What was the reason you transferred from Oak Hill?

Jalen Reed: “It was Coach Julius at SCA that made me want to transfer schools. I really believe in his player development program.”

Question: So, you are currently on a visit to Arizona State, how is that going.

Jalen Reed: “It is not over yet, but so far, it has been one of the most informative visits I have taken yet, and I am enjoying it”

Question: What are you looking for in a school? Are you considering the pro route?

Jalen Reed: “Honestly, location does not matter to me. I have lived all over the country I am just looking for the best situation to get better. I also haven’t had any offers from professional teams yet. “

Question: What’s something that you’re working on right now that you want to improve before you get to the next level?

Jalen Reed: ” Shooting. That’s something I’ve just been working on every day to be able to make shots consistently. That’s what keeps you on the floor at the next level”

Question: With many other schools left on your list, do you have a timetable for his commitment?

Jalen Reed: “Nah, I do not have a timetable for the commitment. I am taking my time and making the right decision for my family and me.”
