The Arkansas Razorbacks struck first in their rematch with Ole Miss after a solo home run by Chris Lanzilli to begin the second inning. Lanzilli was the first batter to the plate for Arkansas in the second inning and delivered a blast to left field that cleared the wall. The run gives Arkansas an early lead as they prepare to win two games in a row against Ole Miss — a team that has not lost a game yet this postseason.

Chris Lanzilli gives Razorbacks lead over Ole Miss

Lanzilli continues to be one of the hottest batters at the CWS as he has now hit his third home run in four games. Arkansas has averaged 14 runs in their two wins in the CWS, but lost to Ole Miss 13-5 in their matchup previously.

Unfortunately, the lead wouldn’t hold for very long as Ole Miss’ Kemp Alderman responded with a solo home run of his own in the bottom of the second inning to tie it at 1-1.

If Arkansas can win Wednesday’s game, it sets up a rubber match to decide who will advance to represent the SEC in the CWS Finals this weekend. Oklahoma already punched their ticket to the final after eliminating Texas A&M, going undefeated on their side of the bracket.

Arkansas signed autographs for fans long after Tuesday game finished

The Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team showed how much they embrace their fans, signing autographs well after the final pitch against Auburn. Video shared on social media showed players still signing autographs for rows of fans in attendance long after the game had ended — only finishing their fan interactions because their bus from the stadium was about to leave.

In their elimination game on Tuesday, Arkansas took down Auburn 11-1 to stay alive in the CWS and set up a rematch with Ole Miss for a trip to the CWS Finals. With Ole Miss undefeated so far, the Razorbacks will have to win two straight games against the Rebels to advance to the finals.

However, none of that mattered for the players coming off their third game in four days in Omaha — as the players remained on the field with fans long after the game had ended. Arkansas and Ole Miss have established themselves as two of the most prominent fan bases in attendance at the College World Series, and the players let them know how much they appreciated the support.
