Arkansas scored a lead-building run off of an incredibly close play at second base that replay showed was a very tough call to make. Cayden Wallace led off the eighth inning with a ball that snuck by the Ole Miss third baseman and led to a close play at second base — where Wallace was ruled safe on the field with a double.

Arkansas replay decision comes up huge

The play ended up mattering in a huge way as Arkansas brought the runner home for 3-1 lead, padding their slim lead with Ole Miss struggling to find offense on the day. With a win, Arkansas will force a winner-take-all rubber match between the programs on Thursday — the winner of which would earn a trip to the CWS Finals against Oklahoma.

The Razorbacks threatened to blow the game open as the eighth inning continued, loading the bases with just one out. However, Ole Miss pitcher Jack Dougherty struck out both Brady Slavens and Kendall Diggs to end the inning with no more scoring, keeping the Rebels within striking distance.

Arkansas signs autographs for diehard fans after Auburn game

The Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team showed how much they embrace their fans on Tuesday night, signing autographs well after the final pitch against Auburn. Video shared on social media showed players still signing autographs for rows of fans in attendance long after the game had ended — only finishing their fan interactions because their bus from the stadium was about to leave.

In their elimination game on Tuesday, Arkansas took down Auburn 11-1 to stay alive in the CWS and set up a rematch with Ole Miss for a trip to the CWS Finals. With Ole Miss undefeated so far, the Razorbacks will have to win two straight games against the Rebels to advance to the finals.

However, none of that mattered for the players coming off their third game in four days in Omaha — as the players remained on the field with fans long after the game had ended. Arkansas and Ole Miss have established themselves as two of the most prominent fan bases in attendance at the College World Series, and the players let them know how much they appreciated the support.
