According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, Auburn defensive back Ladarius Tennison and offensive lineman Tashawn Manning have officially entered the transfer portal.

Tennison has played in 20 career games, recording 42 career tackles and 4.5 tackles for a loss. He never recorded an interception or pass defended, playing safety under Guz Malzhan and Bryan Haris.

A former four-star recruit, Tennison was considered an athlete coming out of high school. Clemson, Georgia, Florida, and Texas A&M were the other school interested in his services throughout the 2020 cycle.

As for Manning, he is a former three-star recruit, choosing Auburn over Tennessee, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Louisville among others in his original recruitment. He began his career as a defensive tackle and redshirted as a freshman at Auburn. He then switched to left guard, and eventually started every game there in 2020. Manning played in eight games this season.

“Dear Auburn, I have enjoyed my time here on the plains,” Manning said of his intention to leave Auburn. “To the Auburn community and fans, teammates and especially my o-line brothers; I will miss you all, and thank each of you for being a part of my life! I have decided to take advantage of one last year of college football and I have made the decision to enter the transfer portal to play my final year of football.”

Three more Auburn players enter transfer portal

Manning and Tennison were not the only two Auburn players to enter the transfer portal on Tuesday. Running back Shaun Shivers, wide receiver Elijah Canion and defensive lineman Caleb Johnson entered the portal Tuesday morning.

Shivers was Auburn’s fourth-leading rusher this season, totaling 87 yards to average 8.7 yards per game on the ground. He also found the end zone once. Shivers also averaged 16.3 receiving yards per game and caught a touchdown in the air.

Canion wasn’t as involved this season, playing in four games. He totaled 46 receiving yards in those games. Johnson was one of the backups on the Auburn defensive line this year and had four total tackles, including one tackle for loss.

Auburn went 6-6 this year in Bryan Harsin’s first season with the Tigers. They came close to upsetting Alabama in last week’s Iron Bowl, but the Crimson Tide forced overtime and eventually won 24-22.

The news also comes on the heels of a coaching staff shakeup. Harsin fired offensive coordinator Mike Bobo Monday night, On3’s Justin Hokanson reported.
