Authorities put Auburn quarterback T.J. Finley in custody at the Lee County Detention Facility on Thursday, according to a report from WRBL. Listed on Finley’s arrest report is a charge of attempt to elude the Auburn Police Department.

The Tigers signal-caller reportedly turned himself into Auburn police on Thursday morning after learning of a warrant issued relating to a traffic violation, a source told AL.com. The source shared that Finley had previously been cited for failure to wear a helmet while moped riding.

The Auburn athletics department told WRBL that they are aware of the former LSU quarterback’s arrest but it has not released a statement on the incident.

According to AuburnLive’s Justin Hokanson, Finley was back at the Auburn football complex on Thursday afternoon.

Finley signed a historic NIL deal with Amazon, which he announced on Tuesday, two days before his arrest. He signed on with Amazon Fashion, which is where his custom clothing line is sold with up to 26 pieces so far.

Finley announced the news in a paid partnership on Instagram. In his Instagram post, the Auburn quarterback shared he helped sign the deal through Dreamfield. Dreamfield is the NIL deal-making platform founded by former Florida State quarterback McKenzie Milton and former Miami quarterback D’Eriq King.

Finley is currently in the middle of a quarterback battle at Auburn with Texas A&M transfer Zach Calzada. He finished last season as the starting quarterback, coming in for former Tigers quarterback Bo Nix. The Ponchatoula, Louisiana native posted 827 yards, six touchdowns and one interception in nine games played.

At LSU in 2020, Finley threw for 941 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions as the Tigers worked through a QB carousel.
