Four-star quarterback Walker White of Little Rock (AR) Christian Academy announced his commitment to Auburn Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3, 225 pounder chose the Tigers over Baylor and Clemson.

White on why he chose Auburn

“Auburn from the very start was full go on getting me. And as soon as Coach Freeze got the job I was very intrigued about Auburn, so I was dying to go visit. The Second I got there, the whole staff welcomed me. They had energy and greeted me and my parents with a hospitable heart. Throughout the whole day on the visit Coach Freeze and Coach Montgomery were with me every second. We got to spend lots of quality time with them and learn who they are.

We got to watch some football with the offensive staff and learn what they are planning to do with the offense. I got very excited once Coach Freeze started teaching me and I felt comfortable. I got to go to Coach Freeze‘s house and even meet the athletic Director. Coach Freeze and his wife were very hospitable and fun to be around. After that we went to go take a photo shoot but before the photo shoot I got to step foot on the field. As soon as I stepped foot on that field, my heart sank and I said to myself “Yeah, this is it!” So that’s when I knew that Auburn was the place I wanted to go and play football.”

Relationship with coaching staff stood out

“I have gotten really close with Coach Freeze and Coach Montgomery. I have gotten to know Coach Stone and Coach Austin who are the other two offensive guys that work with quarterbacks. Hearing them talk football with me and hearing their knowledge about quarterbacks, I had full confidence that going there, I will be pushed EVERY day to be my best. I will also have the resources to become my best.”

Walker White’s plans to lead this class

Taking on the Recruiting role, I will be very active. I plan to get some really good players around me as soon as possible. I already have some people in mind.

The Arkansas quarterback headlines coach Freeze and the Tigers’ Top 20 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by Jayden Lewis and A’mon Lane.

White ranks as the No. 165 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 13 quarterback and the No. 1 player in the state of Arkansas.
