It’s been quite a week for Auburn as speculation ramps up about Bryan Harsin’s job status. Players are starting to weigh in — both current and former.

Colby Wooden, Smoke Monday, Kobe Hudson and Lee Hunter weighed in on Friday during an Instagram Live. Hudson and Hunter both transferred to UCF this offseason to play for former Auburn coach Gus Malzahn. Wooden and Monday are both getting ready to return to the roster.

Wooden commented on the video referencing Bo Nix’s departure from the program, and Hunter shared his thoughts, as well.

“All ima say is mr. auburn Bo left for a reason,” Wooden commented.

“This should tell them folks something,” Hunter responded. “Why would Bo (Nix) leave? Bo’s whole family graduated from Auburn, fool. Bo’s whole family graduated from Auburn, like why he just up and leave? There’s gotta be a reason.”

During the live stream, Hudson weighed in on how Harsin is as a coach — and he had some poignant thoughts on his style.

“He’s a dictator bro,” Hudson said.

Auburn TE John Samuel Shenker: Bryan Harsin ‘is the leader I want to have in my corner’

The IG Live came the same day Auburn tight end John Samuel Shenker took to Twitter to defend Harsin amid the criticism and speculation.

“Listen and Listen Carefully: @CoachHarsin is my football coach! He is the leader I want to have in my corner,” Shenker said of Harsin. “If you have a problem with his Discipline, Toughness, and Conviction that he instills in his players than get your entitled, selfish, and soft tail out away this program.

“I’ll go into a foxhole with guys who love each other and back up Coach Harsin! Also, if you reporters think this “publicity” is giving you credibility, you are more naive than I thought. Come out to a workout or practice and write about things you see instead of things you want to hear. WDE.”

Speculation has been rampant lately about Harsin’s future in Auburn. Late Thursday night, Auburn Live’s Justin Hokanson reported Harsin’s immediate future was in question. Then, on Friday, Hunter said on Instagram Friday he left Auburn because the players “got treated like we wasn’t good enough and like dogs.”
