Auburn cornerback Roger McCreary began his NFL Combine weekend by speaking with members of the media on Saturday morning. The former three-star recruit could lock himself into the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft with a big day on the field tomorrow and a handful of impressive team interviews.

One team he would not mind playing for is the Buffalo Bills, who have turned into a perineal playoff contender. Roger McCreary’s desire to play for that defense hinges on his appreciation of NFL star and former LSU Tigers cornerback Tre’Davious White.

“When I’ve seen him, the guy just – when I first seen the Bills and the guys they’ve got – I was just looking like, ‘who is that guy right there?’ You can see him every time on the field,” McCreary said, via Syracuse.com’s Matt Parrino. “I love corners who are sticky, and every time that’s how he is. You can tell he has that mentality of he’s playing this play, he’s going against the best guy, and he do it every time.”

After providing the surprise information that Tre’Davious White ranked among his favorite players despite coming from a rival school, Roger McCreary spoke more about his fit in the Bills scheme.

“I feel like I would be great for that scheme,” said McCreary. “And also playing on the side of that guy, because I know they’re not going to throw the ball to him so I’m happy that it’s coming my way. So I’d be happy to play with him.”

In addition to his talk about the Bills, McCreary revealed that he has met with team officials in a brief introduction.

More about Roger McCreary

Roger McCreary has been one of the most productive defensive backs in college football over the last several years. His production with a high number of targets make him a prime candidate to play across from a guys who receives few targets like White.

Over four seasons in the SEC, the Auburn star racked up 135 tackles with 30 pass deflections. He also made six interceptions over the final three seasons with one pick six and two fumble recoveries.

He joins another LSU cornerback, Derek Stingley Jr, and Cincinnati standout Ahmad Gardner at the top of the list of cornerback prospects along with Clemson star Andrew Booth Jr and a pair of Washington corners from the Pac-12. Each player’s performance on Sunday could impact where they land in the draft in late April.
