Pfafftown (N.C.) Reagan offensive lineman Sam Pendleton has been waiting for a Clemson offer for quite some time now. Friday, that became a reality.

“After a great conversation with @Coach__TA (Thomas Austin), I am very blessed to say that I have received my dream offer to play for and go to school at The University of Clemson. Go Tigers!!!”

Pendleton is the No. 371 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 22 offensive tackle and the No. 12 prospect in North Carolina.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder is a highly coveted prospect in his class, with offers from Michigan, Penn State, North Carolina State, and now Clemson. He plans to visit the Tigers for their Junior Day on Jan. 29, and he told ClemsonSports that the main goal of this visit is to meet Dabo Swinney. He previously took a trip to the school the summer of 2019, where he got to meet with and get coached up by new offensive line coach Thomas Austin.

Sam Pendleton added that with an offer, Clemson will become an immediate contender and would possibly reside in his top two. Right now, Pendleton’s unofficial top five is Louisville, Michigan, Penn State, N.C. State and UNC. He is expected to make his college commitment next month.

The Tigers currently have one prospect committed for the 2023 cycle: four-star wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph.
