Clemson has entered the mix for Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage three-star cornerback Damari Brown.

The On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — Brown is the No. 383 overall recruit, No. 41 cornerback in the nation and No. 72 player from the state of Florida in the 2023 cycle.

The Tigers have only one commit in the 2023 cycle in a fellow Southern Florida star in Miami Edison four-star wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph.

Clemson has two Florida commits in its 2022 recruiting class, which ranks No. 11 in the 2022 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. Those commits are Tampa Jesuit three-star linebacker Wade Woodaz and Largo (Fla.) Pinellas Park three-star kicker Robert Gunn.

Brown played on defense this past season with five-star EDGE Marvin Jones Jr., the No. 1 player in the 2022 On300 ranking.

Jones played in the All-American Bowl last week, and was named one of the ten best performers of the week by On3 director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power

“The current No. 1 prospect in the On300, Marvin Jones Jr. entered the All-American Bowl with something to prove,” Power wrote. “Jones answered the bell, turning in a strong week of work. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder was the top EDGE in practices. He flashed top notch flexibility and curvilinear movement in rounding the hoop. Jones is not a finished product and will need to continue honing some technique and his finishing ability. With that said, he was certainly among the more disruptive defensive players on hand throughout the week.”
