Saturday was a big day for Clemson football, and the support from the fans was on full display. The Tigers’ campus was the location for ESPN’s College GameDay, and Clemson faithful came out in droves for a matchup against No. 10 NC State.

The Tigers went on to claim a 30-20 victory to improve their record to 5-0 (3-0 ACC), and wanted to make sure the fans were recognized. On Tuesday, the Clemson football Twitter account posted a compilation of what appeared to be fan-submitted videos of the crowd singing “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey.

“Y’all make this place so special,” the tweet read.

After at one point trailing 10-6, Clemson scored a touchdown with less than a minute before halftime to take a 13-10 lead into the locker room. That was the beginning of what would be 24 unanswered points for the Tigers as they pulled away for good in the second half.

Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei finished the game 21-of-30 passing for 209 yards and also rushed for 73 yards while scoring three total touchdowns. He also managed to stay interception-free for the third straight game.

After missing both the College Football Playoff and ACC Championship for the first time in six years last season, the Tigers appear to be in good position to return to both in 2022. Clemson will have its fans to count for support the rest of the football season, but faces a road test against Boston College at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Dabo Swinney updates Xavier Thomas’ status for Week 6

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney feels good about the progress defensive end Xavier Thomas is making as he works his way back from a foot injury. Although Swinney didn’t say for sure whether Thomas will play Saturday against Boston College, he did offer a positive update in his Tuesday press conference.

“He practiced last week,” Swinney said. “I’ve been saying it every week — he’s right there. It’s just Tuesday, so today will be a big day and tomorrow. He was kind of day-to-day last week and didn’t really feel quite there. He’s better now than he was last week. His foot has healed great and looks good. But just been working on his conditioning a little bit, too. He’s right there.”

Thomas has yet to play this season after suffering the injury in fall camp. Last season he earned third team All-ACC honors after recording 21 tackles (6.5 for loss), 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
