Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School four-star quarterback Jadyn Davis took an unofficial visit to Clemson for the Tigers’ 30-20 win over NC State this weekend. This trip marked his fifth to Death Valley and first since June 1.

Davis posted a photo from the unofficial on Sunday. One of the people alongside him in the picture is Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney.

The 6-foot-0.5, 190 pound prospect is the No. 17 overall prospect and No. 3 quarterback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in North Carolina.

“Really now, it’s however I feel on gameday, I’ll know where I want to go to school,” Davis told On3’s Chad Simmons about what he is looking for in a program. “A lot of these schools I love, it was being on the campus, looking at academics, looking at how they run their offense in practice or how they talk on the board. Now, it’s just how they coach, how they are in a game environment, how’s the environment. I’m a big energy person, so that’ll tell me all I need to know about a school after all these visits to campus.”

“Obviously, I want to come in and compete for a starting job,” Davis added. “I think, for a 17-year-old, 18-year-old kid, that’s a lot to ask for. I want to make sure I have a full grasp of the offense before I take the helm.”

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction MachineMichigan has a commanding lead to land Davis’ commitment at 78.8%. The Tigers’ odds are 1.8%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Davis has an On3 NIL Valuation of $158K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
