Ardmore (Okla.) Plainview three-star wide receiver Morgan Pearson announced his commitment to Colorado on Monday. He chose the Buffaloes over multiple programs, including Michigan State and Oklahoma State.

Pearson is the No. 686 overall prospect and No. 98 wide receiver in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 9 player in Oklahoma.

Colorado’s 2023 recruiting class now contains 20 commitments. Prior to Pearson’s pledge, the Buffaloes’ group ranked No. 52 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 8 in the Pac-12.

Star City (Ark.) three-star linebacker CJ Turner is the highest-ranked recruit committed to Colorado as the No. 635 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. He chose the Buffaloes on April 16.

Pearson is one of four wide receivers headed to Boulder for their college career. The others are Hollywood (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star Isaiah Hardge, San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) J Serra Catholic three-star Edward Schultz and Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei’s Jordan Onovughe.

Colorado currently holds pledges from eight players in the top-1,000 of the On3 Consensus. They include Pearson, Turner, Downey (Calif.) St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy three-star cornerback Jordan Shaw, Houston (Texas) Yates three-star EDGE Kam Bizor and Dallas South Oak Cliff three-star athlete Taylor Starling.

A 6-foot-1, 218-pound wideout, Pearson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $12K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
