Shedeur Sanders jokes he will be 'in the league' over spring classes at Colorado
Shedeur Sanders is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks available in the 2025 NFL Draft, and it appears the Colorado star has jokingly declared his intentions of being in it.
Video from after a Buffs practice depicted a Colorado coach telling his team that everyone is to be ready to register for 2025 spring classes at 8:30 a.m. Sanders’ response is where he made the unofficial definive statement.
“Registration for what?” Sanders said. “… I’m going to the league.”
Sanders found the camera and chuckled. “We’ve got to register for classes,” he told the camera. “I’m in the league.”
Defensive back Colton Hood jumped into frame, saying everyone had to be ready for registration.
“He’s coming back next year,” Hood said. “We got registration.”
Sanders told Hood to “not wish that on me. … After last game, man, y’all not gonna see me for a good minute.”
Shedeur has a point. Colorado was idle in Week 10 on a bye week, but gainst Cincinnati in Week 9 Sanders completed 25 of his 30 passes for 323 yards and scored two touchdowns through the air and another on the ground.

That performance reflects the entire body of work he’s put together this season. One of the most accurate passers in the country, Sanders has completed 73.3% (220 of 300) of his passes this season for a total of 2,591 yards, 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s added three additional scores on the ground as well.
In a recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Pro Football Focus predicted Sanders to be drafted No. 21 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders. That same mock draft had Sanders’ teammate, Travis Hunter, being the No. 1 overall selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Sanders and Hunter both have four more games during the regular season, not including what’s in store for Colorado in the postseason, to add to their impressive totals this season.
Next up for the Buffaloes is a road trip to Texas Tech in Week 11. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET and will air live on FOX.
