Colorado‘s over/under win total for the upcoming season is at 6.5, according to FanDuel. On Wednesday’s episode of The Triple Option podcast, former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and former Heisman running back Mark Ingram revealed their expectations for Colorado’s 2025 campaign.

“I’m going over because I have faith in Deion,” Ingram said. “They’re gonna get this thing together. Let’s just be honest, though. What is 6.5? I say six, seven wins. I think that’s a good season for them right now. You lost Shedeur. You lost Travis Hunter, arguably the best player in college football recent. Then, I just think their coaching staff, man, they have a lot of coaches with a lot of experience.

“They went and got Marshall Faulk, they went and got Domata Peko, one of the D-linemen I played with. You got this coaching trio of experience and knows how to communicate with players. They’ve hit the transfer portal. They went and got a quarterback. They’re trying to shore up this offensive line. They were last in sacks per game last year. So it’s a lot of things that have to go right. But I think with the coaching staff, with the players, with the mindset and the strategy that Deion has, I feel like they gonna get this thing going.”

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders certainly has his work cut out for him. The Buffaloes lost two all-time greats in program history this offseason in Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.

With the dynamic 1-2 punch gone, the Buffaloes will have no choice but to reinvent themselves this offseason. This reinvention will start at quarterback, where Colorado added two significant pieces this offseason.

To start, Colorado flipped the commitment of five-star QB Julian Lewis from USC. Just 14 days later, Colorado reeled in a commitment from Liberty transfer QB Kaidon Salter.

With a plethora of experience to support him, Salter is projected to start for Colorado next season. Alas, even if Salter has individual success, there are others of concern for Colorado. While Meyer isn’t as bullish on Colorado’s upcoming season, he believes the Buffaloes are on the right track.

“This Colorado team, we don’t know what it’s gonna look like,” Meyer said. “We knew last year what it’d look like. You had Travis Hunter, you had Shedeur, you had a certain look to it. This will be completely different.

“They don’t have the transfer portal, the 40 guys. It’s much less, which, reading it, that tells there’s stability in the program. When you start flipping 45, 50 players every year. I still don’t know how that worked… I’m with Mark on this. I think it’s going to be right around there.”
