3-star RB Marquise Collins enrolling early at Duke following season-ending injury
College Station (Texas) three-star running back Marquise Collins announced Wednesday that he will not be playing his senior season because of an injury. He also shared that he will be enrolling early at Duke.
Collins is the No. 672 overall prospect and No. 42 running back in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He committed to the Blue Devils on July 3.
On3 rates him even higher. Even though he is not in the 2023 On300, Collins is the No. 41 running back in the country and the No. 93 player in Texas.

“Heartbreaking to announce that I won’t be able to play my senior year due to injury, I pray for a healthy recovery!” Collins wrote in a statement shared on social media. “I appreciate everyone who has supported me, and believed in me through out high school. In these times I’ll continue to lead and walk by faith with my head held high. My story is written and everything happens for a reason! From here through December I’ll continue to lead and take care of my role as a member of this brother hood. I plan to finish on academics and early enroll at Duke University. #illbeback”
Collins is currently the third-highest-ranked recruit in Duke’s 2023 recruiting class. The only prospects rated ahead of him are Pfafftown (N.C.) Reagan three-star EDGE Semaj Turner and Greer (S.C.) Gaffney three-star quarterback Grayson Loftis.
Duke’s 2023 class currently ranks No. 47 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 10 in the ACC. It is led by Turner, who is the No. 591 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.
Collins has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.7K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
