WATCH: Duke fans troll Ohio State with 'We Want Michigan' chant
Duke fans in attendance for their victory over Ohio State on Wednesday night trolled the Buckeyes with a chant about Michigan. Cameron Indoor Stadium broke out in a “We Want Michigan” chant while Ohio State was shooting free throws and the game fully in hand for Duke.
The game was tightly contested throughout, with the Blue Devils pulling away late and holding on to the win finally. From there, the fans took the opportunity to dig into the skin of the Ohio State fans and players — reminding them that they just lost to their bitter football rivals. Although No. 25 Ohio State was ranked coming into the game, Michigan isn’t too far behind after receiving votes but not being ranked in the latest AP top-25 rankings.
The win for Duke changed recent history’s course as well with a strange stat that has plagued them while playing Ohio State on the court after they played “The Game” against Michigan on the field. The past two times that the Buckeyes fell to Michigan, they defeated Duke in basketball the following week.
