Willis (Texas) four-star quarterback DJ Lagway picked up an offer Sunday from Duke.

Lagway is the No. 6 overall recruit and No. 2 quarterback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $12.8k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Lagway is considered across the industry one of the top quarterbacks in the 2024 cycle.

“DJ Lagway showed some intriguing flashes as a sophomore at Willis (Texas) High,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said in a recent scouting report on quarterbacks in the 2024 cycle. “The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder has a quick release, live arm and good feet. He makes impressive reactive plays in and out of the pocket. Lagway was not quite as efficient or productive as some of his highly-ranked peers as a sophomore and is more of an upside and skill set projection at this point. He completed 55.5 percent of his passes for 1,579 yards, 17 touchdown and two interceptions at under seven yards per attempt, while also rushing for 715 yards and six scores.”

The Blue Devils already have a quarterback commit in the 2023 cycle in Greer (S.C.) Gaffney three-star quarterback Grayson Loftis.

Duke has two more recruits in its 2023 class in Katy (Texas) three-star running back Seth Davis and Hartwell (Ga.) Hart County three-star wide receiver Paul Davis. The class ranks 23rd in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking
