Jared McCain is a superstar on and off the court. The four-star shooting guard from Corona (Calif.) Centennial is one of the highest-ranked recruits in the Class of 2023. He also continues his success off the hardwood as one of the most valuable athletes in the nation.

Leading up to and after his commitment four days ago to the Duke Blue Devils, Jared McCain saw his On3 NIL Valuation increase by $111,000 to $397,000.

The 38% increase in his On3 NIL Valuation since March 8 comes on the heels of the pledge to the Blue Devils over Gonzaga, UCLA, Louisville, Houston and others.

The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The On3 NIL Valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

In addition, Jared McCain’s On3 NIL Valuation has grown by more than 23% over the past 12 weeks and increased by more than $73,000 during that time.

Jared McCain builds huge personal brand

Jared McCain has amassed over 1.1 million followers on TikTok, not to mention, just more than 354,000 followers on Instagram.

“He’s done one heck of a job growing his own personal brand,” On3 national basketball analyst Joe Tipton said. “However, Duke will only strengthen it, especially in the NIL era.”

That’s right on the money, literally.

Since Jared McCain’s commitment to Duke, he’s gained more than 100,000 new followers on TikTok and added around 84,000 followers on Instagram.

The overall On3 NIL Valuation increase has also allowed him to skyrocket from 34th to No. 25 in the NIL 100. The On3 NIL 100 is the first of its kind and the defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by market valuation.

Jared McCain also ranks No. 6 overall in the On3 High School Basketball NIL Rank behind household names like Bronny James, Mikey Williams, Hansel Enmanuel, Dior Johnson and Amari Bailey.

A great example of his social media prowess was on display in the hours leading up to his commitment. The day before he picked Duke, he posted a dancing TikTok video with the caption simply saying: “I commit tomorrow to a school.”

Within 18 hours, the video had surpassed more than 5 million views. Plus, his Instagram following grew by more than 20,000.

Jared McCain is the No. 23 player overall in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the No. 2 shooting guard and third-best player in California, per the On3 Consensus.

On3 ranks Jared McCain slightly higher than others in the industry as the No. 17 overall player.
