Detroit Martin Luther King five-star quarterback Dante Moore is a key name on the Florida Gatorsvisit weekend list.

Earlier this week, there was still a little uncertainty about whether or not he’ll make it to Gainesville; however, that trip down to the Swamp is now officially locked in said Corey Bender of On3’s GatorsOnline.

“Top-100 wide receiver Jalen Brown is now confirmed, while getting five-star quarterback Dante Moore on campus is massive for the Gators as well,” Bender said. “Billy Napier’s staff recently extended a scholarship offer and is now set to roll out the red carpet roughly two weeks later.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Florida is way down the list for Moore. The On3 RPM lists Notre Dame with a 64.4% chance of landing Moore, followed by Michigan at 23.1%. But getting him to campus could definitely shift the momentum, Bender said.

Moore is ranked as a five-star and the No. 15 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 ranks Moore slightly lower than others in the industry at No. 49 overall. However, he still ranks as a top-five quarterback, according to On3.

Key running back recruit set for Florida trip

Richard Young, the nation’s No. 1 running back, is also scheduled to be in Gainesville for a visit. Young is a priority target for the Gators, but Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia currently are the favorites, per the On3 RPM.

Cedric Baxter Jr. and Treyaun Webb are the most realistic additions at running back,” Bender said. “However, that does not mean the staff isn’t going all-in for Young as well. Some out-of-state programs, especially Ohio State, are trending in Young’s recruitment, but the Gators will likely host him several times in 2022, with Friday being the first time this year.

“This first meeting with Billy Napier‘s staff will go a long way in terms of where the Gators fall into Young’s recruitment going forward.”

Some quality offensive line targets are also set to visit Florida this weekend for multiday visits, including top-five offensive tackle Monroe Freeling and four-star offensive tackle Wilkin Formby. Four-star offensive lineman Roderick Kearney is also believed to be coming town this weekend for a visit. UF is battling Florida State for his commitment.

Other expected visitors:

“Napier’s staff has done an outstanding job of getting elite talent on campus and that will continue on Friday,” Bender said.
