5-Star Plus+ CB Cormani McClain to visit Florida for season opener
Lakeland (Fla.) Five-Star Plus+ cornerback Cormani McClain is visiting Florida for its Week 1 contest against Utah.
The news was first reported by Blake Alderman of 247 Sports and was confirmed by Corey Bender of GatorsOnline.
McClain is the No. 3 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $307k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
McClain is one of five Five-Star Plus+ prospects in the 2023 class along with New Orleans Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning, Los Alamitos (Calif.) quarterback Malachi Nelson, Las Vegas Bishop Gorman wide receiver Zachariah Branch and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa.

Florida fighting with Alabama over Cormani McClain
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has Alabama as the current favorite to land Cormani McClain at 44.0% with the Gators right behind them at 33.3%.
Miami is also in the mix with a 18.1% chance but the main for the Gators right now in this recruitment is Nick Saban.
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
