The Florida Gators are chomping at the bit to defend their home at The Swamp against the Alabama Crimson Tide. With less than 24 hours until kickoff, the Gators released this video to get their fans amped up for Saturday’s showdown.

The Gators are 2-0 and currently the No. 11 ranked team in the nation heading into this matchup. Their opponent, the Crimson Tide, is also 2-0 and the nation’s top-ranked team. Alabama entered this season as the defending SEC defending champs and national champions after beating Ohio State in last year’s College Football Playoff championship game.

The Gators Offense

Florida’s two wins this season are over two fellow in-state teams, in the South Florida Bulls and the Florida Atlantic Owls. In both games, the Gators won in convincing fashion, with a 21-point victory against the Owls and a 22-point win against the Bulls. They have been led by their offense, averaging 38.5 points a game and with a total of 11 touchdowns on the season.

The majority of their 11 touchdowns have been scored on the ground as the Gators’ offense is led by their running game. Coming into this game, the Gators are averaging 381.5 yards per game and nearly nine yards per rushing attempt. Their run game is led by quarterbacks Emory Jones and Anthony Richardson. Jones has 155 yards on 23 attempts so far, and Richardson has added in 275 yards on 11 runs. The tandem makes up two-thirds of Florida’s players with over 100 yards rushing on the season. They have also accounted for three of the team’s seven rushing touchdowns.

Their quarterbacks are just as dangerous through the air as they are on the ground. Richardson has thrown for 192 yards on just six completions, two of which were touchdowns. On the other hand, Jones has 264 yards on 31 completions, and two touchdowns as well. But Jones has to be mindful of the turnovers as he has already thrown four interceptions on the year.

Alabama’s stingy defense

The Gators will be going up against a defense in Alabama that has only allowed 13.5 points per game. In the Crimson Tide’s first game, they held the Miami to just 13 points. They also kept them under 100 yards rushing for the game. In the Crimson Tide’s second game of the season against Mercer, they allowed only 48 yards rushing.

This game will be the biggest SEC match-up so far in the season, matching up one of the nation’s most dangerous offensive rushing attacks against the sheer dominance that is the Crimson Tide’s defense.
