Orange Park (Fla.) Fleming Island four-star running back Samuel Singleton has committed to Florida State. Singleton, a 5-foot-11, 180 pound tailback chose the Seminoles over programs including Michigan and Tennessee.

The four-star is the No. 299 overall prospect and the No. 18 running back in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 60 player in Florida.

Following Singleton’s commitment, Florida State’s 2023 recruiting class is No. 18 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. The Seminoles’ group started the day at No. 19. Florida State’s class is also ranked No. 4 in the ACC.

Singleton is currently the only running back recruit in Florida State’s class, which now includes 12 commitments. The group is composed of seven four-stars, four three-stars and one unranked prospect.

He is also the sixth-highest-ranked prospect in the Seminoles’ class. The only recruits rated higher than him are Highland Home (Ala.) four-star EDGE Keldric Faulk, Clearwater (Fla.) Clearwater Academy International four-star offensive tackle Lucas Simmons, Orange Park (Fla.) four-star interior offensive lineman Roderick Kearney, New Bern (N.C.) four-star defensive lineman Keith Sampson Jr. and Miami Gulliver Prep four-star EDGE Lamont Green Jr. All five of them, in addition to Singleton, are top-300 prospects.

Singleton is Florida State’s second August commitment. Four days ago, the Seminoles landed a pledge from Pensacola (Fla.) Pensacola Catholic cornerback Ja’Bril Rawls. Florida State also had a strong June and July on the recruiting trail, earning commitments from players including Faulk, Kearny, Simmons, Fort Pierce (Fla.) Fort Pierce Westwood three-star wide receiver Vandrevius Jacobs and Meridian (Miss.) three-star athlete Quindarrius Jones.

Singleton visited Tallahassee three times, the most of any school during his recruiting process. He was most recently on campus for an official visit on June 24. He also took unofficial visits on March 27 and Sept. 5, 2021.

The four-star recruit has an On3 NIL Valuation of $13.3K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
