Florida State landed a massive recruiting win on April 17 when the Seminoles flipped Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County five-star tight end Landen Thomas from Georgia. Head coach Mike Norvell and his staff are currently trending to add another talented tight end to Florida State’s 2024 recruiting class.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Seminoles are leading for Loganville (Ga.) Grayson four-star tight end Kylan Fox at 69.1%. Florida State’s odds rose greatly following an expert prediction from On3’s Chad Simmons.

“The 6-foot-4.5, 217-pound recruit is returning to Tallahassee this weekend and he has already visited the Seminoles around half a dozen times,” Simmons wrote. “… Based on what I am hearing, I like where Florida State sits for Fox and I am logging a prediction for the Seminoles on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.”

Fox is the No. 212 overall prospect and No. 13 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 29 player in Georgia.

Before this weekend, Fox’s last visit to Florida State came on April 15 for the Seminoles’ spring game. He currently has official visits set to UCF (June 2), Miami (June 9) and Florida State (June 16).

“It’s close to home,” Fox told Simmons about the Seminoles on April 5. “I feel at home when I’m in Tallahassee. Every time I go back to Florida State, the visit just gets better. I get to see 1% more than I saw last visit and then, just the relationships I have with coach (Chris) Thomsen and coach (Mike) Norvell.”

Landing Fox would be a big win for Florida State’s 2024 class

If Florida State ends up landing Fox, Norvell and Co. will have commitments from two of the top 15 tight ends in the 2024 class. Fox is deciding between the Seminoles, UCF, Miami, ColoradoGeorgia Tech and Ole Miss.

Right now, Florida State’s 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 7 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the ACC. The Seminoles’ group contains three top-100 prospects in Thomas, Albany (Ga.) Dougherty four-star running back Kameron Davis and Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military School four-star quarterback Luke Kromenhoek.

In addition to Fox, Florida State is in the lead for multiple blue-chip prospects, per the RPM. They include Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview five-star cornerback Charles Lester III (91.0%) and Miami (Fla.) Christopher Columbus four-star EDGE Dylan Stephenson (92.1%).
