Georgia has made five-star 2025 EDGE Zayden Walker one of the top priorities as it looks to build another top-ranked class in the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings.

The in-state star out of Ellaville Schley County has been to Athens nearly a dozen times, including this past weekend when the Bulldogs hosted South Carolina. The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder holds offers from across the SEC — and the country — but no program has been tied to him as much as UGA. Now, after his most recent visit, the Bulldogs are trending heavily in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) to land him.

That follows a prediction from On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons, who wrote this about Walker on Sunday morning:

“At different times, there have been different programs competing with Georgia for the top spot on Walker’s list. But Georgia has always been right there at, or near the top. South Carolina was viewed as a strong contender early. Florida State has had Walker on campus numerous times. Miami came on over the summer. All three programs are still there, as are others, but early on, all are chasing Georgia.

… I like where the Bulldogs sit for Walker and have put in a pick for the Bulldogs on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. It does not mean a decision is imminent for Walker, but I have been told by a source that commitment has crossed his mind. In recruiting today, things change very quickly, but Georgia is the school setting the pace in his recruitment.”

Bulldogs already building another elite recruiting class

While Georgia already sits with the No. 1 class in the 2024 team recruiting rankings, they’re already well on their way to another elite class in 2025.

Already in the fold for the Bulldogs next cycle are projected five-stars Justus Terry, Elyiss Williams and Micah DeBose, as well as elite linebacker Jadon Perlotte, four-star running back Jabree Wallace-Coleman and four-star cornerback Tae Harris.

Terry and Williams are the No. 3 and No. 4 prospects in the Peach State next cycle, and the Bulldogs are in a very good spot with Walker (No. 2) and Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Elijah Griffin.

Along with Perlotte, UGA has commitments from three of the state’s top 10 prospects already.

Zayden Walker Recruiting Profile

Walker is the No. 10 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 1 EDGE and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Georgia.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this about him as a prospect:

“The early front-runner for top EDGE prospect in the 2025 cycle as a rising junior. An unverified 6-foot-2, 220 pounds. Flashes a high-end combination of on-field athleticism and functional play strength. Lines up in both two and three-point stances off the edge. Shows noticeable first-step quickness off the snap. Very strong at the point of attack. Plays with excellent leverage and uses his strong lower body to move offensive linemen both as a bull rusher and run defender. Makes some eye-popping plays in pursuit, showcasing high-end athleticism in tracking down ball carriers from the backside. Doubles as a dangerous running back, using his athleticism and strength to pick up yards after contact. Helped his team to a state title appearance as a sophomore.”
