Georgia wide receiver and return specialist Mekhi Mews plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Mews walked on to Georgia ahead of the 2021 season, earning playing time as a true freshman with a 12-yard kickoff return and a four-yard punt return versus Charleston Southern. Following another season as a reserve receiver and special teams player, he emerged as a part of Georgia’s offense and their primary returner in 2023.

This past season he’s caught 15 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown, returned 20 punts for 205 yards (including a 69-yard return for a touchdown against Ball State), and returned 15 kickoffs for 402 yards for the Bulldogs.

Mews played high school football at Grayson (GA) Central Gwinnett, where he was an unranked and unrated recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
