Georgia cornerback Nyland Green has been arrested on three felony counts early on Wednesday in Athens-Clarke County. According to Jake Reuse of DawgsHQ, it includes two counts of possessing a weapon in a school safety zone.

Moreover, Green was booked into the Athens-Clarke County Jail at 2:49 AM on Wednesday morning. Additionally, other counts include second-degree criminal damage to property, a felony, as well as two misdemeanor counts of reckless conduct.

Furthermore, SI.com reports that the incident sounds like it involved a BB gun on campus, with something being shot and broken. Green is still awaiting his bond hearing. Georgia is yet to release a statement on the incident.

More on Nyland Green

Nyland Green was huge get for Georgia. Prior to choosing the Bulldogs, Green was ranked as a five-star prospect and No. 17 overall player in the Class of 2021, according to the 2021 On300. Moreover, he was an industry consensus four-star, ranking as the No. 50 player overall.

So far in 2021, he’s been eased into action. To illustrate, Green has appeared in three contests for the Bulldogs this fall — getting extended time against UAB, Vanderbilt, and Charleston Southern.

On the season, he’s posted two tackles — a solo and an assist, both coming against UAB.

Georgia is attempting to finish off a dominant season with a victory over Georgia Tech this weekend. While the Yellow Jackets are a measly 3-8 on the season, you can never discount how much their animosity for the Bulldogs will propel their team.

After Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs have a date with the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship. If Kirby Smart’s team can finish off their undefeated season, they’ll continue to be overwhelming favorites to finish their season as national champions.

However, it remains to be seen whether Nyland Green will be part of their attempt at everlasting glory.
