Jordan Davis has single-handedly captivated the entire sports community with his insane performance at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis on Saturday by making history with his 40-yard dash time. With his official time logged at  4.78,, the Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman became the fastest ever at the NFL Scouting Combine by a player over 340 pounds and by a good margin.

The second fastest time was run by Dontari Poe of Memphis back in 2012, he ran a 4.98.

It turns out Jordan Davis was faster — in the same exact event — than a recent Super Bowl champion quarterback Georgia Bulldogs fans know very, very well.

In an incredibly impressive yet somewhat eerie simulation created by the NFL graphics team, an edited video inserted Super Bowl-winning quarterback and Georgia Bulldogs legend Matthew Stafford’s 40-yard dash from back in in 2009 and blended it with Jordan Davis stunning the world on Saturday.

This is almost unfathomable to comprehend and Georgia Bulldogs fans will get a kick out of it to say the least.

To be clear, Stafford has never made his money with his legs, although he isn’t afraid to run when necessary. Ironically. during his 2021 Super Bowl winning season at age 34, the quarterback only had 43 rushing yards on 32 attempts with no touchdowns during the regular season.

But in the playoffs. Sean McVay and company got creative and Stafford — the same quarterback with a slower 40-yard dash than the mammoth that is Jordan Davis — had 18 rushes for 42 yards and two scores.

Jordan Davis worked hard on speed in prepping for NFL

While Davis is expected to be a hot commodity for a team looking for a physical presence who can anchor a defensive line, the former UGA star has made it clear he’s ready to take his game to the next level and Saturday’s NFL Combine performance stunned everyone watching.

“Everyone knows I’m a run stopper but I’ve been working hard on my rush” NFL.com’s broadcast team said after talking with Jordan Davis.

Daniel Jeremiah, who is touted as one of the top talent evaluators and is on hand with the NFL.com crew said “I just got a text from a general manager that said ‘wow with three exclamation points about Jordan Davis.”

In his official draft analysis, it’s clear the narrative around Davis entering the draft was focused on his ability to stuff the run.

Now, with the big man shattering NFL Combine records and getting love from current NFL superstars and even the biggest man in Hollywood? It’s fair to say Jordan Davis used the combine to boost his stock in a major way.
