No. 1 Georgia is readying for a massive showdown with No. 2 Tennessee with the SEC East on the line and the Bulldogs do so with coach Kirby Smart forced to provide multiple injury updates on Monday.

The Bulldogs are walking wounded.

While the outlook is seemingly favorable for the likes of offensive lineman Amarius Mims, linebacker Darris Smith and receivers Adonai Mitchell and Dominick Blaylock, it’s less rosy for star pass-rusher Nolan Smith. Smith is dealing with a pectoral injury, Smart revealed Monday.

“His availability has not been determined,” Smart said of Smith. “It does not look good for availability this week. He’s got, it’s a pec muscle. So it’s one of those deals we’ve done an MRI on. We’re still getting some opinions on it, but he’s probably doubtful for this week.”

Smith left a 42-20 win over Florida on Saturday in the second quarter. He did not return.

Kirby Smart gives multiple injury updates on receiving corps

Smith’s injury was not the only one that sidelined a key player against the Gators. Receiver Dominick Blaylock was also injured following a catch attempt that Florida defensive back Jadarrius Perkins wrestled away for an interception.

“His back, had a lower back spasm but I think he’s going to be fine,” Smart said. “Should be able to go today. He didn’t play anymore after that when he landed on that fade ball, the interception.”

The Georgia receiving corps has already been a little thin this season, with star Adonai Mitchell sidelined since suffering an ankle injury against Samford in Week 2.

Running back Kendall Milton is also dealing with an injury, and Smart will be monitoring both skill players this week.

“Not sure because I have not seen them practice,” Smart said. “Kendall’s still got the quad strain that’s bothering him. AD has the ankle. We took him on the trip and allowed him some more recovery time, so I’ll find out more today with him.”

Linebacker Darris Smith left Saturday’s game against Florida after suffering a vicious hit on kickoff coverage.

“He’s dealing with a head injury and hopefully get him back, but we don’t know with him,” Smart said.

Finally, Smart provided an update on offensive lineman Amarius Mims.

“Then Mims has a slight MCL that we hope he’s going to be able to go, but I mean we haven’t practiced so it’s hard to say,” the Georgia head coach offered.
