Even while Georgia was making their national championship run last season, people were asking for a quarterback change. Despite Stetson Bennett winning games and leading the Bulldogs to the promised land, the backup quarterback has always been popular in Athens.

Those talks have died down this season as Georgia continues to push for another CFP trophy. If their spot wasn’t already locked up, Saturday’s SEC Championship win over LSU secured being No. 1 in Sunday’s ranking. Which calls for having some fun.

Bennett took some time to call out the doubters when doing an interview with CBS sideline reporter Jenny Dell. He said although Georgia has an incredible team — a roster full of studs — he is “not that bad” at football either.

“I’ve got good players around me,” said Bennett. “I’m not that bad at football either. And we got a good team.”

Bennett proved he’s pretty good at football on Saturday, having a fantastic afternoon in the SEC Championship. He threw for 274 yards and four touchdowns, looking nearly unstoppable at times against the Tigers. There have been struggles during certain SEC games but Bennett once again proved he shows up in the biggest games.

Aaron Murray makes bold statement over Stetson Bennett

The Georgia Bulldogs throttled the LSU Tigers in the 2022 SEC Championship Game on Saturday night, 50-30.

Stetson Bennett IV diced up the LSU defense, completing 23 of 29 passes for 274 yards, while tossing in four touchdowns and no interceptions. The performance was good enough for him to bring home MVP honors in this year’s SEC Championship Game.

Following the beatdown of the Tigers, former Bulldog great Aaron Murray took the time to heap some heavy praise on Bennett on Twitter.

Check out the tweet below, as Murray declared that not only is Bennett going to New York City for the Heisman Trophy ceremony, but he’s also the greatest quarterback in Georgia football history.
