Marietta (Ga.) St. Frances Academy offensive tackle PJ Wilkins committed to Georgia Tech on Saturday afternoon. He chose the Yellow Jackets over offers from Boston College, Charlotte and USF.

Wilkins is not ranked in the 2023 On3 Consensus or the 2023 On300. He is 6-foot-7 and 345 pounds.

“I want to start off first by thanking the man above(,) nothing would be possible without him,” Wilkins wrote in a statement published to social media. “Secondly (I) would like to thank my parents for… all the sacrifices they made to put me in this position. And lastly to all the coaches that have been with me during this recruitment process. It has been an amazing experience and (I) am grateful for all the love they have shown me. With all of that being said (I) am extremely excited and blessed to announce that (I) will be committing to (the) Georgia Institute of Technology!! #GoJackets.”

The Georgia native is the 16th member of Georgia Tech’s 2023 recruiting class. He is also one of two offensive tackles alongside Powder Springs (Ga.) Hillgrove three-star Ben Galloway.

Georgia Tech’s class is No. 58 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 12 in the ACC. It is led by Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb Christian School three-star interior offensive lineman Gabriel Fortson, the No. 572 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

Three prospects have committed to the Yellow Jackets this month. They are Wilkins, Green Cove Springs (Fla.) IMG Academy three-star cornerback Jarvis Lee and Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood wide receiver Bryce Dopson.

Meanwhile, Fortson chose Georgia Tech in October. Earlier this month, Miami Norland four-star running back Javin Simpkins, the No. 367 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus, backed off his pledge to the Yellow Jackets.
