TE Jacob Cruz commits to Georgia Tech
Acworth (Ga.) North Cobb Christian School tight end Jacob Cruz committed to Georgia Tech on Friday. He is now the 15th member of the Yellow Jackets’ 2023 recruiting class.
Cruz, who officially visited Georgia Tech on June 10, is unranked in the 2023 On3 Consensus and the 2023 On300. He is 6-foot-5 and weighs 225 pounds.
“BEYOND BLESSED TO ANNOUNCE THAT I AM 100% COMMITTED TO THE GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,” Cruz wrote on social media earlier today.
Cruz is the second tight end in Georgia Tech’s class alongside Newnan (Ga.) three-star Justyn Reid. He is also the Yellow Jackets’ second commitment of August in addition to Montgomery (Ala.) Montgomery Catholic Preparatory cornerback L.J. Green.

Georgia Tech’s 2023 class is currently ranked No. 59 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 12 in the ACC. It contains one four-star and 12 three-stars.
Georgia Tech received one pledge in July in Miami Norland four-star running back Javin Simpkins. However, the Yellow Jackets received numerous in June.
They include commitments from players including Reid, Eufaula (Ala.) three-star interior offensive lineman Patrick Screws, Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter three-star interior offensive lineman Ethan Mackenny, Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County three-star EDGE Zachariah Keith, Upper Marlboro (Md.) Rock Creek Christian Academy three-star defensive lineman Anthony Little, West Orange (N.J.) three-star defensive lineman Gensley Auguste and Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest three-star defensive lineman Elijah Douglas.
The Yellow Jackets also received June pledges from Lilburn (Ga.) Norcross three-star wide receiver Zion Taylor, Alpharetta (Ga.) three-star interior offensive lineman Elias Cloy, Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods three-star running back Trey Cornist, Colquitt (Ga.) Colquitt County three-star safety Kamal Bonner and Newnan (Ga.) three-star linebacker Ashton Heflin.
Cruz has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
