2024 Carrollton (Ga.) four-star tight end Caleb Odom received an offer from Kansas on Wednesday. He announced the news on social media.

Odom is the No. 248 overall prospect and No. 14 tight end in the 2024 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 36 player in Georgia.

On3 rates Odom higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. According to the 2024 On300, Odom is the No. 146 overall prospect, No. 5 tight end and No. 25 player in Georgia.

A 6-foot-5, 205 pound prospect, Odom has received 11 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it is a close race for Odom’s commitment. Auburn currently has the best chance for his pledge at 13.1%, while Tennessee has the next-best odds at 11.5%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Kansas does not have any commitments in its 2024 recruiting class. Meanwhile, the Jayhawks’ 2023 class is No. 83 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 10 in the Big 12.

Odom has an On3 NIL Valuation of $12.4K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Odom gives insight on his recruiting process

Odom recently spoke with On3’s Jeremy Johnson about his recruitment. In addition to his success on the football field, Odom is a talented basketball player. He hopes to play both sports at the next level.

“Playing basketball and football is really big for me,” Odom told Johnson. “I want to showcase my talent for both in college, so any college that could offer both is definitely up top.”

Two programs that have stood out to Odom so far include Florida State and Louisville. Odom shared that both schools made him feel welcome.

Another program that has expressed interest in Odom is Auburn. The four-star attended the Tigers’ Big Cat camp last month. Even though Auburn isn’t in contact as often anymore, Odom is interested in the Tigers. One reason is because of their basketball program, which was one of the top teams in the country last season.

“They really haven’t been in touch lately,” Odom said. “They invited me to come to their Big Cat camp, but other than that, I really haven’t been in touch with Auburn that much. I would still love to go there and play both sports.”
