According to the Jayhawks, sometimes the more things change the more they stay the same when it comes to the border rivalry between the Kansas Jayhawks and Missouri Tigers on the court. On Saturday, the two teams faced off with The Jayhawks firmly reminding the Tigers of what they left behind when they departed from the Big 12. And if Missouri didn’t get the memo following their 95-67 defeat to their former conference rivals, Kansas made sure to hammer the point home with the post below on their social media account.

This was the first loss of the season for Missouri. Adding insult to injury it happened on their home court and a prime-time matchup between the two programs.

Kansas dominates Missouri again

Kansas dominated the game from beginning to end, leaving very little in doubt about who the better team was on Saturday. The Jayhawks outscored the Tigers in both halves by double-digit points; 50-33 in the first half and 45- 34 in the second. Four of Kansas’s starters scored at least 16 points in the game. the combined output (80) from forwards Jalen Wilson (24) and KJ Adams (19), along with guards Gradey Dick (16) and Kevin McCullar (21), was more than enough to take down Missouri.

Missouri might be feeling it and the SEC when it comes to football. However, if they would’ve remained in the Big 12 with Kansas, they face a dominant Jayhawk basketball program at least two times a year. And if they are giving up games by nearly 30 points, Kansas wouldn’t have a problem with that.

Up next for Kansas is a top-ranked matchup at home against the Indiana Hoosiers. The Hoosiers will roll into Allen Fieldhouse next Saturday to take on the Jayhawks in an 11 a.m. CT matchup. Indiana also has a matchup this Saturday against another top-ranked blue-blood opponent and the Arizona Wildcats. If they can overcome the Wildcats, this will be an exciting matchup between two teams with only one loss on their records to start the season.
