Kansas’ Late Night in the Phog event has been headlined by some major talent. Run-DMC performed last season with Snoop Dogg, 2Chainz, and Lil Yachty all having performed in years past. This season, though, they’re going with someone who has talent both in music and on the court.

The athletics department announced today that Shaquille O’Neal will headline the event for the 2022 season. Better known as ‘DJ Diesel’, O’Neal will welcome the reigning men’s basketball champions as well as the Lady Jayhawk’s team with a performance at the event.

Although he’s best known as a 15-time NBA All-Star, five-time NBA champion and Hall of Famer, Shaq’s interests off the court have earned him just as much notoriety. Most of his work is on TV or in commercials, but his skill as a DJ has become just as big of a pastime for The Big Aristotle.

Kansas basketball has to make this year’s event special considering they’re coming off the their fourth national title. Having Shaq in the building will bring that excitement out from the Jayhawk faithful come October 14th at 6 p.m. at Allen Fieldhouse.
