Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel interior offensive lineman Asher Tomaszewski committed to Kansas State on Thursday. He announced the news over social media.

Tomaszewski is not ranked in both the 2023 On3 Consensus and the 2023 On300. He is 6-foot-4 and weights 275 pounds.

“Lastly I want to thank Coach Klieman, Coach Klanderman, and Coach Tuiasosopo for this great opportunity to continue my academic and athletic career,” Tomaszewski wrote. “With that being said, I would love to announce my commitment to Kansas State University!! Go Cats!!”

The interior offensive lineman is now the 17th commitment in the Wildcats’ 2023 recruiting class. Kansas State currently ranks No. 54 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. The Wildcats’ class is led by Maize (Kan.) four-star quarterback Avery Johnson.

Tomaszewski is the third offensive lineman in Kansas State’s class. The others are Kansas City (Kan.) Piper three-star Camden Beebe and Meridian (Idaho) Rocky Mountain three-star Jackson Fullmer.

He is also the Wildcats’ only commitment of August so far. However, Kansas State has had a big July and June on the recruiting trail.

Last month, the program landed Johnson, Fullmer, Davenport (Fla.) Ridge Community three-star athlete Joe Jackson, Saint Louis (Mo.) St. Mary’s three-star cornerback Donovan McIntosh, Phoenix (Ariz.) Sandra Day O’Connor three-star EDGE Ryan Davis, Hillsboro (Mo.) linebacker Austin Romaine, Fort Smith (Ark.) Northside cornerback RJ Lester and Eden Prairie (Minn.) tight end Chiddi Obiazor.

However, Derby (Kans.) four-star running back Dylan Edwards decommitted from the Wildcats on July 29. Edwards, the No. 292 overall prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus, is currently favored to commit to Notre Dame by the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Meanwhile, the Wildcats’ June pledges include Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Hillcrest three-star linebacker Collin Dunn, Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley three-star wide receiver Andre Davis, Oklahoma City (Okla.) Del City three-star safety Kanijal Thomas, Kennedale (Texas) three-star safety Kameron Sallis and Bogart (Ga.) North Oconee cornerback Jack Fabris.
