Belle Vernon (Pa.) four-star athlete Quinton Martin was given a nice surprise Wednesday morning when his high school football coach Matt Humbert told he now has an offer from Kentucky.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has Martin as the No. 12 overall player in the country, No. 2 athlete in the nation and No. 1 player from the state of Pennsylvania.

On3 does not rank high school sophomores but Martin was one of just 18 players to receive a grade of 91 when On3’s 2024 watchlist was released last fall.

Not only is Martin a standout football player but he is also a fantastic basketball player as well.

In fact, BWI’s Ryan Snyder reports that Penn State head coach James Franklin will be watching Martin on the hardwood Wednesday.

“Following Charlotte, Franklin will fly up towards Pittsburgh to watch a basketball game this evening, Laurel Highlands vs. Belle Vernon,” Snyder said. “The game will feature two top prospects for Penn State in 2023 WR Rodney Gallagher and 2024 Ath. Quinton Martin. He’ll be joined by Terry Smith.”

As the top prospect in Pennsylvania, Martin is an unsurprising top target for Franklin and his staff.

The Wildcats have zero commits in their 2024 recruiting class, but they have build a very good 2022 class that ranks No. 13 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

Charlestown (Ind.) five-star offensive tackle Kiyaunta Goodwin is the headliner of the group, but the class has some depth too. Nashville (Tenn.) Pearl-Cohn four-star wide receiver Barion Brown is a top-100 recruit and top-10 wideout in the class.
