It’s well-documented how far and hard Will Levis can throw the football when he’s pushing it downfield. His workout during Kentucky’s Pro Day was meant to further prove his standing among the best quarterbacks in this year’s NFL Draft while also showing growth and improvement in areas that had become criticisms in his evaluation.

However, that doesn’t mean the Wildcat QB didn’t get to show off his strength at all. In one of the best clips from his performance, Levis took a snap and nailed Barion Brown in stride downfield with the ‘cannon’ of an arm he has been letting everyone know about.

Again, scouts wanted Levis to show off more than his arm during UK’s Pro Day inside Nutter Fieldhouse in Lexington. He had several other throws, some good, some bad, that will further help scouts and NFL personnel evaluate where they think he falls in the pecking order with CJ Stroud, Bryce Young, and Anthony Richardson.

Still, everyone loves a deep bomb and Levis was happy to oblige with one of the best throws of his day.

Levis defends his accuracy, Combine bravado about arm strength

On Friday afternoon, Kentucky held its 2023 Pro Day at Nutter Fieldhouse, their indoor practice facility. Inside, the main attraction, the reason why scouts and coaches and general managers all made the trek to Lexington, was quarterback Will Levis. The outing offered NFL folks one more opportunity to see the prized QB prospect up close.

As part of the event, the SEC Network caught up with Will Levis for a brief interview about what he hoped to show scouts in Lexington. For Levis, he wants to dispel any myths about his passing accuracy not being up to par.

“People that are saying I’m not accurate — that kinda irritates me a little bit. I think I’m as accurate as anybody else,” Levis stated. “I mean maybe I need to do more to show that. I’m confident in my accuracy and I think that’s a strength of mine.”

Levis then referenced some comments he made at the NFL combine a few weekends ago. At the podium, Levis declared that he had a cannon and was anxious to show it off at the combine’s throwing drills. However, some NFL people found his confidence a bit of a turn-off. According to Levis himself, he’s usually pretty tight with his lips but let some of his inner confidence spill out during those interviews.

“I thought it was funny. Like the one comment that I made, like in interviews? I’m always very buttoned-up. And I’m always saying the right thing. That’s just who I am. But, the second I throw in a little bit of character, it gets spun out,” said Levis. “All I was saying, I mean, it’s one of my strengths as a player. And I was going to make sure I let that be known. It’s just kind of funny when people took that and ran with it. It’s just, you know, the media.” Levis said with a sigh to end his comments.
