Louisville coach Pat Kelsey suffers dislocated finger celebrating win over Kentucky

Louisville coach Pat Kelsey had plenty to celebrate on Tuesday night following a 96-88 win over rival Kentucky. Unfortunately, he suffered a small injury during the post-game festivities.
Kelsey told reporters that he dislocated a finger celebrating the big win. He sported a brace on his two middle fingers on his right hand at a post-game press conference. You can view that below.
For Louisville, the win was the first in the rivalry series in five years. It was a massive, massive win for Pat Kelsey and his squad. One that the program can continue to build on the rest of the season.
The Cardinals backcourt really took over in the contest, with a pair of guards both topping the 20-point mark. Freshman Mikel Brown Jr. scored a game-high 29 points and Ryan Conwell scored 24.
Brown was virtually unstoppable in the contest and earned repeated praise from the television broadcast crew during the game. He finished 8-of-16 from the floor and 3-of-10 from 3-point range, but he also went 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.

Conwell had a similar outing, making four 3-pointers and going 8-of-12 from the free throw line. Louisville had only one other double-figure scorer in the game: Sananda Fru, with 10 points. Pat Kelsey, though, would be happy with the contributions from the bench.
The Cardinals managed to force the Wildcats into 14 turnovers in the game. Louisville converted those into 19 points off turnovers.
Elsewhere, things were relatively even between Pat Kelsey’s squad and Mark Pope‘s. But Louisville led where it mattered, through much of the contest. In fact, Kentucky led for only 1:41 in total in the game.
With the win, Louisville moved to 3-0 on the season. Its offense has been extremely notable so far; the Cardinals are scoring 102 points per game through the first three games.
