Louisville offers Memphis On3 4-star LB commit Arion Carter
Smyrna (Tenn.) four-star linebacker and Memphis commit Arion Carter received an offer from Louisville on Thursday night. He announced the news on social media.
The Cardinals’ offer is Carter’s third of the day following Ole Miss and South Carolina. Within the last week, the Tennessee native has received offers from Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee and USC. He committed to Memphis on July 20.
Carter is the No. 1,179 overall prospect and No. 106 linebacker in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 31 player in Tennessee.
On3 rates Carter higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he isn’t in the 2023 On300, Carter is the No. 27 linebacker and No. 7 player in Tennessee.
“As of now, I’m still very committed to Memphis,” Carter told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I think I’m just exploring my options and seeing what every other school has to offer. Overall in the end, I’m going to find the school that is really home to me and will give me the best opportunity on and off the field in the long run.”

Louisville’s 2023 recruiting class contains 15 commitments, including El Campo (Texas) five-star running back Rueben Owens. The Cardinals’ group is currently No. 15 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the ACC.
Carter has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
