Saturday’s victory for LSU over Florida featured several many wins in the process. Arguably there was none more significant than the resurgence of star receiver Kayshon Boutte back into the spotlight. The Tigers wideout had his first 100-yard game of the season and was a problem for the Gators’ secondary to handle.

What led to Boutte’s performance might be a mystery to all except for his head coach Brian Kelly. During a recent press conference, Kelly detailed what led to strong performance from Boutte.

“I made him the gameday captain, and you could just see that intensity pick up. And I don’t know if that was the reason for it, but he played fast,” said Kelly. “I made him gameday captain because of the way he practiced this week. He, by far, set the standard in terms of how he went to practice. And it showed in the way he played. He was faster than anybody. He broke tackles; he was a difference-maker. If he plays at that level, we’re a different football team.”

The Tigers knocked off the Gators for the fourth consecutive time behind a dominant performance from quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels was 23 of 32 on the night for 349 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Boutte was Daniels’ favorite target on the night, with six receptions for 115 yards.

Kelly makes suggestion for Chris Doering after losing another LSU vs. Florida bet

On SEC This Morning, viewers who tuned in got treated to a special guest who only comes around every so often, Chuckles the Sad Clown. This is the name given to Chris Doering by his fellow co-host Peter Burns whenever he dresses up like a clown. But why was Doering dressed up like a party favor? Because he chose to bet against the Tigers on Saturday when they took on the Gators.

Tigers head coach Brian Kelly was front and center for the antics as he was a guest on the show on Monday. Later in the day, Kelly spoke about the experience and offered a suggestion to Doering after losing another LSU vs. Florida bet.

“I could see him yeah. I had no idea no; I didn’t know that he was going to dress like a clown. But I think if you keep betting, you get what you deserve there,” said Kelly. “Because I think he’s 0-4. In that situation, I think Pete should just up the ante, at this point. And make sure that there’s no dress that he comes out in next time. Then, there won’t be anymore betting.”
