Newly anointed LSU head coach Brian Kelly has only been on the job for a couple of months and he’s still in the process of learning many different things about the program in Baton Rouge. On Friday evening, he posted a picture with two of the biggest legends ever to grace the grounds of Tiger Stadium: former Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow and former Biletnikoff Award winner Ja’Marr Chase.

Kelly is right, the tandem needs absolutely no introduction. No matter what he accomplishes at LSU, it will be hard for him to touch the perfection that Chase and Burrow displayed during their masterpiece of a 2019-2020 season. The dynamic duo will go down as one of the greatest quarterback-wide receiver tandems in college football history and their flawless chemistry has not skipped a beat in the pros with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Burrow and Chase are in town to impress a few high profile LSU recruits, including class of 2023 quarterback Dante Moore. The five-star signal-caller is rated as the No. 9 overall prospect in America for the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings. Another prospect that is also in town for the Tigers this weekend is five-star wide receiver Carnell Tate, out of IMG Academy. The gifted prospect is rated as the No. 4 receiver in America in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings. Tate posted a picture of him with Chase on his Twitter account on Friday evening.

Both Burrow and Chase have lived up to the hype and then some in the NFL careers thus far, propelling the Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1988. In the 2021-2022 regular season, he completed 70.4 percent of his passes for 4,611 passing yards, while tossing in 34 touchdowns and just 14 interceptions. Not only that, Burrow performed at an incredibly high level behind one of the worst offensive lines in league history. He was sacked 70 times over a span of 20 games last year–third most in league history. Luckily for the former Heisman Trophy winner, the Bengals have invested heavily in rebuilding their offensive line heading into the 2022-2023 season.

Chase did some historic damage of his own last year for the Cincinnati Bengals, hauling in 81 catches for 1,455 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. It was a record-setting season for the uber-talented receiver and it’s safe to say, he’s just getting warmed up. Chase is destined to be one of the greatest receivers to ever play the game.
