Former LSU tight end Foster Moreau had a pretty funny reaction his alma mater’s recent hiring of Brian Kelly. He recently told Paul Gutierrez of ESPN: “My mom told me if you don’t have anything nice to say, you should probably just keep it to yourself.”

“Yeah, I don’t know anything about Brian Kelly, truthfully, I know he’s a family-oriented man and I’m excited for the opportunity he has,” he said.

Gutierrez also asked Moreau about the importance of ‘fit’ for a new coach at a job like LSU.

“Fit’s always important. Chemistry’s always important. The more you can be around people, the more you can understand where they come from. Obviously, Coach O knew just about every inch of Louisiana and anything in that soil and that was very meaningful to the state, obviously, to the university, and he was not only an incredible coach but ambassador for football in southeast Louisiana,” Moreau said.

Big day on Sunday for the former LSU tight end

Speaking of Moreau, he currently plays for the Las Vegas Raiders. He’ll get some time to shine on Sunday, as the Raiders’ star tight end Darren Waller is expected to miss the Washington game with a back/knee injury. He’s currently listed as doubtful on the injury report, so barring any sort of dramatic injury comeback before kickoff, Moreau will serve as quarterback Derek Carr’s top tight end target for the game.

Foster Moreau’s college stats

Foster Moreau was impressive during his final two years at LSU, hauling in 46 catches for over 500 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He finished his career as the seventh-ranked LSU tight end in school history for receptions by a tight end (52). The Louisiana native also finished in a tie for fourth in touchdowns by a tight end in school history (six).

Foster Moreau and the Las Vegas Raiders face the Washington Football Team on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 4:05 p.m. EST from Las Vegas.
