Joe Foucha couldn’t return at a better time for the LSU Tigers.

Ahead of their SEC showdown with Auburn, the former Arkansas Razorbacks defensive back turned LSU pass defender is readying for his first game of the season after serving a four-game suspension. Preparing for their SEC rival won’t be easy, but Foucha is confident LSU has a solid game-plan to stop Auburn quarterback Robby Ashford.

“He’s a great quarterback,” stated Foucha. “He can sit in the pocket. He can scramble. So we’re going to have to gameplan for him. I mean, it’s a nice gameplan. We respect his game. He’s I mean, he can throw the ball, he can run it, he can pass. He can do it all. So you know, just being able to prepare for him is going to help us out Saturday.”

Additionally, Auburn running back Tank Bigsby may be the best player on the team’s offense, but Foucha thinks LSU can slow him down on Saturday.

“He’s a great running back. He runs downhill, he runs hard, he can cut back, he can do it all,” added Foucha. “So just focusing on him, it’s going to be like another game. He’s a great running back, but we’re just going to do our job, lock in on our job and that’s going to slow him down.”

Both LSU and Auburn will need a victory on Saturday, but only one can come out with a win. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. ET, and it’s bound to be a battle between the two SEC rivals.

Joe Foucha reacts to being declared eligible after serving 4-game suspension

Moreover, LSU transfer defensive back Joe Foucha has his eligibility back after serving a four-game suspension to start the season. Foucha had an issue with his credits after making the move from Arkansas, but he’ll finally make his debut for his home state school on Saturday versus Auburn.

The senior safety reacted to his renewed eligibility with the media on Wednesday.

“It feels great. The four weeks I was out, I was still preparing every day like a game,” Foucha said. “Now that I finally have the opportunity to practice and prepare, now that I get to play Saturday, I’m just ready to go.

“For anyone, it’s pretty hard (watching from the sideline). My teammates, coaches, kept me going, and me just having the want-to, it kept me going as well. I went to scout team day in and day out preparing hard for this moment.”

The Tigers bring a 3-1 record into the road game versus Bryan Harsin’s squad. They’re the favorites on the road, however, Auburn has the talent to make it a very interesting game.

“It’s an SEC game so I’m definitely excited,” Foucha said. “It’s going to be a big game Saturday and it’s definitely going to be a big game for me since it’s my debut.”
