LSU has had a great start to the month of July, resulting in the team being ranked inside the top 10 of the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

The month started with a commitment from Minneapolis Robbinsdale Cooper four-star EDGE Jaxon Howard.

Howard is ranked as the No. 101 prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He became the highest-ranked commit in the 2023 Tigers recruiting class.

LSU then landed a verbal from Indianapolis Lawrence Central four-star EDGE Joshua Mickens.

The Tigers have now secured three more commits Monday — Columbus (Ga.) Carver four-star defensive lineman Darron Reed, Baltimore St. Frances Academy four-star EDGE Dashawn Womack and Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel three-star safety Ashton Stamps — which has lifted LSU into the No. 9 slot in the recruiting ranking.

That makes them the third-highest ranked team in the SEC behind Alabama and Georgia.

Reed becomes the team’s high commit in the 2023 On300 ranking at No. 29, just ahead of Mickens at No. 34.

“I just knew it was LSU on my official visit,” Reed told On3. “On my first visit to LSU in the spring, I loved it. I took my family with me on my official visit and everyone loved it. The coaches made everyone feel at home and after that official visit, I knew it was LSU.”

Womack is the second-highest recruit in the class via the On3 Consensus, but like Reed and Mickens, is view much higher by On3. Womack is the No. 58 prospect in the 2023 On300 ranking.

“It wasn’t an easy decision at all because of the relationships I have with coaches at all three schools, but LSU felt like home,” Womack said. “LSU is in the city. I am from the city. It just felt like home for me.”
