King George (Va.) three-star wide receiver Mekhai White received an offer from LSU on Saturday night. He announced the news over social media.

White is the No. 393 overall prospect and No. 60 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in Virginia.

“I think LSU is a great school overall,” White told Billy Embody of The Bengal Tiger on March 8. “I can definitely see myself playing there and in the offense they run.”

“(Wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton) is a down to earth guy and he also pretty cool. He develops great wide receivers,” he added. “He said that he loves my athleticism and that I have great hands and footwork. (Recruiting specialist Jordan Arcement) is a very cool guy and we are starting to build a relationship with each other.”

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound wideout holds 35 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it is a very close race for his commitment. Penn State and North Carolina have the two-highest odds at 21.8% and 19.1%, respectively.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

LSU’s 2024 recruiting class contains eight players. It includes Loganville (Ga.) Grayson four-star cornerback Zion Ferguson, Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy four-star quarterback Colin Hurley, Bellaire (Texas) Shadow Creek four-star safety Maurice Williams, Chillicothe (Ohio) four-star tight end Tayvion Galloway, Loganville (Ga.) Grayson four-star athlete Joseph Stone, Jonesboro (La.) Jonesboro-Hodge three-star linebacker Xavier Atkins, Marrero (La.) John Ehret three-star interior offensive lineman Khayree Lee and New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton three-star cornerback Wallace Foster.

White has an On3 NIL Valuation of $30K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
