LSU star wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a lower leg injury suffered during the team’s loss to Kentucky on Saturday, a source told On3.

It’s the latest injury blow for the Tigers, who dropped to 3-3 with the loss to Kentucky and were already without some key players such as All-American cornerback Derek Stingley. Boutte, one of the nation’s top wide receivers, leads the SEC and is tied for No. 1 nationally with nine receiving touchdowns. The sophomore is also tied for second in the SEC with 38 catches and ranks fourth with 508 receiving yards.

Boutte suffered the injury while making an acrobatic 37-yard catch during the fourth quarter vs. Kentucky.

LSU faces No. 20 Florida Saturday, then plays four other ranked teams in its final five games — No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 5 Alabama, No. 17 Arkansas and No. 21 Texas A&M.
